How to export your BDO transactions
- Sign in to your online banking and open the transaction history or statement page for the account you want to review.
- Choose the date range you want, then use the download or export option.
- If your bank asks for a format, pick CSV, Excel (.xlsx or .xls), or PDF — Zoption reads all of them.
- In Zoption, open Import, choose the file, and check the preview before you save anything.
What Zoption reads automatically
Zoption looks for these headings in your BDO file and maps them for you:
- transaction date
- transaction description
- amount
- debit amount
- credit amount
- category
- type
- currency
- BDO exports often split amounts into separate Debit and Credit columns. Zoption detects that layout and reads both, so withdrawals and deposits land with the right sign.
- Where a running balance or reference number is present, Zoption recognises those headings and leaves them out of the amount columns.
What happens after you choose a file
Nothing is saved until you say so. Zoption shows a preview with every parsed row, flags rows it cannot read, warns you about likely duplicates, and commits your import as a single unit — so a partial import can never leave your ledger half-updated.
Once saved, the entries feed your category spending, budget progress, six-month trend, and savings rate. Amounts are stored as whole centavos, so totals stay exact instead of drifting the way floating-point sums do.
Your data stays yours
Zoption does not connect to BDO and never asks for your banking credentials. You upload a file you already downloaded, and every record lives in your own isolated workspace. Your workspace starts empty and contains only what you choose to add.
Common questions
Do I need to reformat a BDO export before importing it?
Usually not. Select the BDO preset — or let Zoption detect it from the file — and the date, description, and amount columns are matched for you. You can remap any column in the preview if something looks off.
Will importing the same statement twice create duplicates?
No. Zoption checks incoming rows against transactions you already have and flags likely duplicates in the preview, so you decide what to keep before anything is saved.
